Ah this is such a sad moment to realize that the dance planning, shopping and living vicariously through her have come to an end for Lelu and I. The twins won’t start this fun (and how fun is that going to be to have two kids to plan for?!?) for 2 1/2 years. The high school has this unenforced rule that the kids can’t ask until a designated “D-Day”. Last year, Lelu and her friend Grant had decided they wanted to go to senior prom together but alas, he wasn’t quick enough on the draw. Hunter asked Lelu 2 days before “D-Day” and the rule (in our house) is that you go with the first one to ask you. Needless to say, it was a bit upsetting for both of them that their plans did not work out. Even so…Hunter is a great kid and she was very excited for prom.
Prom was really fun and she went with a really great group of kids. However, when she ran in the door an hour before curfew and burst into tears, we freaked out a little inside until she told us that one of the kids she went with hit his head on the edge of trampoline pit at the after dance activity and had a seizure. I was really proud of these kids because they got together and said a prayer while waiting for an ambulance. Miraculously, he only had a severe concussion and a very sore neck and it wasn’t so much worse, but that made for a very sad ending to senior prom.

They are so incredibly stunning! Also, you never stop living through your kids! I am still doing it with them even being married. Life is good! Love you!
She looks a whole lot like her mama is these pictures! I had never really saw that close resemblance, but it’s there in these pictures!
I’m just a little stunned that somehow, some way that gorgeous girl carries elements of Grandpa Sorenson’s gene pool. Could not be prouder and can’t help but believe there is a wedding coming that will brighten the world and all the family’s remembrances. I guess we are allowed a little undue pride in the well-being and blessings that come from our posterity. Her Mom and Dad should be “busting their buttons” at how well their children are turning out, and how successful their involvement in the Gospel of Jesus Christ has contributed to everything good in their lives.
