Mommy’s Day Full of Flowers

May 12th, 2019 We started this puzzle for Easter – but finished it for Mother’s Day. The rocks were ridiculously hard. We’ve become that couple that sits at our kitchen table most nights and definitely some weekends doing puzzles, listening to music and occasionally our kids sit down and talk and put in a few pieces. I’ve only really disliked one puzzle that all the pieces were super bizarre shapes. B had to finish that one alone. He can find pieces really well by color and I’m a master at shapes. We’re a match made in boring-evening -puzzle-heaven.

The theme of this Mother’s day was flowers flowers flowers flowers and I loved every petal! This is usually where I muse about the meaning of motherhood. This was my last Mom’s day with minors. That sounds like a little short story title with a profound meaning at the end, doesn’t it? Next year all of my children will be official adults. That doesn’t mean anything really – except they can legally all tell us that they can do anything they want and don’t need to ask our permission. Maybe I’ll muse on that development next year and all that comes with it? This year, I’ll just enjoy that I have two kids left under my roof that don’t say that to me. (the other three are pretty nice too) And that I didn’t just get one bouquet of flowers – I got four! Plus a delicious breakfast and dinner that I didn’t have to cook. I’ve taught them well..haha

Lelu and Jake headed out to Oahu with the Martin family to visit his brother Nate, who is going to BYU Hawaii and just sent us snapshots to make us all jealous. We missed her.
