May 25th to beginning of June
We took a very quick trip down to So Cal for B’s nephew Marcus’ wedding reception. I booked an AirBnb in Malibu for fun. As June is known for (and I forgot about) – we had a perfect June gloom so we didn’t enjoy the beach quite like I had hoped. We did, however, hit our favorite Neptunes Net for shrimp, found a freakishly giant seaweed, did some summer shopping and enjoyed watching the surfers, who didn’t let June gloom bother them.

All the Taylor brothers were together for the first time in awhile.

The Airbnb had a very nice master bedroom and bathtub. I envision spending a lot of time in a place like this in my future:)

Ever since Aub watched “The Italian Job” when she was 15 years old, she has wanted this exact color and style of mini-cooper and she finally bought one! A true childhood dream come true!!

TT finally finished his Woodworking II project for the year. He was inspired by my friend Cherie’s son Hunter having built a fully round rocking chair in high school. He designed his own and worked very hard (after school, weekends for six months) for it to be perfectly round and perfect. His teacher had him submit it for the Corner Canyon Art Fair and guess what…..he won first place. Just like TT, he didn’t make a big deal out of it. And yes it does rock all the way around – but you have to hold on tight.

He was a little more impressed with himself when he went back to school this fall and discovered a permanent giant photo of his chair hanging in the hall of the high school. He is now designing a new project for his senior year. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with! TT is truly talented at woodworking and B and I are way more excited about his talent than he seems to be.

The puppies ventured outside for the first time. It really tired them out and Halle was always right there with us.
