Our usual Thanksgiving is spent putting the turkey in the oven, going up skiing and then coming home to a warm house and an even warmer meal. Without having D around this year, not wanting us to feel sorry for ourselves missing him too much, I convinced B to deviate from our tradition and head south. When we walked out of the airport into 80 degrees and sunny, even B had to question why we aren’t snowbirds yet.

Dave doesn’t even have to look at the turkey to carve it, he just has to ponder on the complexities of life while looking into the air.
I set up my camera on a tripod to snap some photos of everyone…I accidentally set it to take five in a row and Dave um well pulled a Dave……
Tay and Christian were poking their heads up somewhere back there too. The food was oh so delicious (even though I wasn’t able to give B powdered sugar for the gravy). Mark and Liselotte opened their lovely new home to all the Sorensons for pie. We took our Christmas card photo. The kids swam a bunch. The AZ family met at the park and the kids rode bikes and played frisbee. Even Melinda made the drive to come join us for a couple hours. We hiked Camelback mountain. And not one of us wore a jacket even once. All three of my kids wore shorts on the flight home since they were in denial that it’s winter where we live. Even though I haven’t lived there for 20+ years, it still feels like home to me. And I look forward to the day that I can convince B that he does want to live there for at least half the year. Aub said she worried a little that Thanksgiving wouldn’t live up to past Thanksgivings being away from home, B worried we’d miss skiing and I worried the weather wouldn’t be perfect. All that worry for nothing! We loved the valley of the sun and are so grateful that Dave, Shel and boys would make us feel so welcome!

Truly incredible, fun, beautiful hike to a more spectacular view! D would love this hike. It’s on our to do list for when he gets home.

TT loves these little guys and begs to take them home. I am pretty sure they’d like to keep him too.
Now why do we live in UT again?

I wonder why Becca and haven’t thought about an Arizona Thanksgiving? It looked fun.
Love you all,
Scott
Since we are doing the snowbird thing, it would be great for more of you northerners to join us. We are always open for a visit when you get tired of the snow. The downside for me is that I just can’t get into the Christmas spirit. I am in denial. Ramona reminded me yesterday that a month from now Christmas will be over. Can’t process it! Sorry I missed out on so much of your visit, but we never know when these bugs will get us.
I am jealous! Although, we did kind of have a nice “just our family” dinner that turned out 98% awesome! Sorry we missed you though!
I would have loved to have gone down.
Love you!
Becca
Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving in Arizona. We stayed home – I was sicker than I’ve ever been at Thanksgiving and Bret, Marcus, Angelyn and Joshua made the dinner. Jennifer set the table. It was the first time I did absolutely nothing for Thanksgiving. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, Love to all, Helen (:
I found it! We loved having you down and can’t wait for you to become snowbirds! I don’t know why I keep missing your emails, but love seeing all the pictures. Love you guys!
