What Have You Been Up To During Covid Quarantine?

The world changed on March 14th. All of a sudden everyone in the country freaked out. There’s a virus we’ve been hearing about hitting Wuhan China. First, Columbia cancelled all in person classes and Master D was immediately online. New York started getting the most cases. I suggested that he fly home. He didn’t want to since he had a date. But then the date cancelled because someone in her office got sick. So he flew home on Saturday. Dawna and I talked about it in Whistler. We weren’t worried then. First we heard that it had a 2% death rate, just slightly worse than the Flu. We honestly thought people were overly worried about it. We’ve been hearing about stuff like this – Avian Flu, Swine Flu, H1N1, Ebola for years, but we thought -that’ll never happen to us. I mean, I sort of joked about having it on my girls trip. Who knows, maybe I did? I had a dry cough and my ribs hurt. It’s way too much trouble to find a place to get an antibodies test. We took our employees home on March 16th, the kids came home from school the following week. Church was cancelled. Temples closed. All of a sudden we are facing something out of the books and horror movies. Celebrities were coming down with it. Who knows how many deaths there actually were in China? They don’t tell the truth. The world doesn’t know how to handle it. We don’t really know how to handle it. Don’t even get me started on the politicians and the political climate. And then Utah had an earthquake and really freaked everyone out. Our company was breaking records immediately dropped by 50%. Scary things going on. People were cleaning out the stores. There was no toilet paper to be found. Luckily, I was on a subscription service and had over 180 rolls before there was a run on it. I mean if a Jazz player can get it

Master D – online class

TT texted me to find out if he should get some girl scout cookies while we can, I said get six boxes, he said they only had three. And then he came home with THREE CASES – not boxes.

This is the stage from the last U2 tour. The Aquarium bought it and set it up next to the freeway in Draper. This meme started going around

Momentum closed so TT put his wood working skills to use and Jake jumped in and they built their own rock climbing wall in the garage where Lelu and Jake are living.

The dogs were getting a lot more attention.

The best thing about quarantine is I asked everyone to choose a day and be responsible for making dinner every week. We’ve had some very interesting, tasty and different things to eat. This was Master D’s creation.

Master D lost his identity for a bit.

B received gifts from Aub

Lelu, Jake and the twins still got graduation photos taken for their announcements

B and I worked on more than our fair share of puzzles until he banned me from putting anymore out.

The kids got on a lego kick

We had a little fun with the kids for the minute this headline worried them on April 1st

We’ve done a lot of walking together. Down Porter Rockwell trail were all these painted rocks with messages.

Since I’m writing this the end of July – we’ve just past four months of crazy-town. Every day is Blursday. It takes me a long time to figure out what day it is when I wake up in the morning. Nothing is normal. Nothing is routine. Everything is routine. Everything is the same.
