Some Reprieves From Post-Christmas Winter-Blues

January 31, 2016

Christina celebrated a birthday with a pumpkin roll cake.  I never got around to making them at Christmas so it was a good excuse to surprise a few friends with a little January sweetnessIMG_3580Ari had a dance performance charity event in Ogden.  It’s a lot of fun to watch these hip hop dances – so many girls working so hard and spending so much time practicing – it’s inspiring! Ari is the top left corner.

IMG_3586When I heard that Coldplay was playing the half-time show, I had to have a party.  I called it a “12 minutes of Coldplay with a little football” party.  I didn’t think they disappointed – but really wish they did play for 12 minutes instead of only 4 minutes.  The kids all had fun playing murder in the dark, putting the littler kids into suitcases and drinking soda from bottles.  The women all had fun chatting it up and I think the men watched the game.  We had too much food and delicious and clever Cherie sugar cookies.  IMG_3587 IMG_3590 IMG_3594 IMG_3595IMG_3593

Then the inversion hit us – thank heavens for hikes up and out of it to give me perspectiveIMG_3658

The twins had their piano recital too.  They both played great and TT decided he wanted to play even though he had surgery on his arm 2 weeks before.  We are lucky to have our teacher Tammy, who also taught Master D and Lelu.  IMG_3604

  1. Always so fun to catch up on your busy life!! Wish we were younger and closer to still get in on the recitals, etc. I was one who watched the football game, but also enjoyed seeing Coldplay, especially with subtitles so I could get the lyrics. Lyrics always attract me to performers. Happy we were above the inversion in Cedar Hills, but even more happy that we can now head south to sunny skies and warmer temps.
