03/15/14 This year in Moab – Christina, me, B, TT and Ari ran the 5 mile. I’ve run the half marathon the last four years and I think I’m just getting too old to run that far – or at least injured too often. Five Miles was the Perfect Run. This was Christina’s first official race and she totally rocked it!
Landon, Lelu and Master D ran the half marathon. Lelu beat her time last year by 7 minutes, Master D with very little training came in with a smile on his face and Landon ran despite being sick (what a tough kid)
03/29/14 My really great friend Kelly invited me kind of last minute to go to Mexico (Puerta Vallarta) with her friends from her old ward. I knew Amy from shopping trips to LA but went in kind of blind with the other girls. It was an amazing week of great food, beach, great girls, friendship and memories and the absolutely funnest and most terrifying zip line ever – Kelly Me, Amy, Emily, Jeannie, Steph
This zip line is where they filmed the movie “Predator” and these creatures were hiding in this very dense jungle and scared me EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is why I do not go to haunted houses
We conquered a dozen zips and lived to tell about it.
AND this was the view off mine and Kelly’s balcony from our room. ( Although I got extremely tired of saying “No Gracias” – I guess 5 blonds and one brunette are the perfect target for all beggars, I loved this trip). Kelly & I laughed and chatted up a storm every night solving all of the world’s problems. Kelly is one of those friends that are priceless (kind of like this sunset) and I am grateful.
04/12/14 SPRING BREAK HUNTINGTON BEACH-year 3 – with Master D this time. Handstand contest Jeff, Wyatt, Lelu, TT, Master D & Ari
I don’t get the whole gang banger look but it was a theme throughout the week
Master D’s first surfing experience and he found it to be very tiring – I don’t think he’ll be heading off to Kauai to become a waiter/surfer dude anytime soon
Landon & Lelu – cousins are such awesome built in friends. It was fun to have them come too. We played volleyball, threw frisbees (which I am truly amazing at), played paddle ball, biked and realized how much we love the ocean and NEED to go there more often.
I learned a few lessons this time I’d like to share.
1. It’s awesome to have the kids share their own room and B & I to have our own.
2. Having a contest for the kids to be nice to each other is effective for traveling (Master D had to be eliminated because it wasn’t fair, Ari won pretty easily)
3. DO NOT under any circumstances put a seat protector on a toilet and sit down on it when you are wet in a bathing suit. It will SEAL to your backside and take A LOT of effort to scrape off.
4. Laugh it off when you get stuck in a bathroom stall after painstakingly peeling off said seat protector and then escape only to step directly into a freshly ketchuped hot dog bun – in the dark.
5. Do recognize the AMAZING coincidence that my kids ran into Darbi getting off of a choir tour bus while riding by on their bicycles.
6. Do have a contest to see how active you can be in a day – even if you make a fool of yourself.
Huntington The Video by Master D:

I love all your posts!! So jealous of the ones with beach, sand, sun, and fun!
Love you!
Having just returned from a very fun cruise, I loved the reminders of sunsets, beaches and fun. Making great memories for you kids and you! Again, I say your blog is priceless!!
So fun to read all of this! I am playing catch up with your blog. Love that the kids ran into Darbi. Also Lesson Number Three had me rolling! Keep writing! I need to get back to it. My blogs have been sorely neglected of late.
Loved the video! We should all have Dhane put our lives to music.
