04/26/14 I didn’t know dances could be so stressful, but as you all know, every kid is very different. I wasn’t this freaked out about dances because I had a regular date for every dance, Aub couldn’t care less, Master D just didn’t ever really make it a big thing (boys definitely have their advantages) but for Lelu – it was a BIG DEAL. She didn’t get asked as quickly as she would have liked and at moments was absolutely certain she wasn’t going to go. I didn’t want to start looking for dresses just in case …. She got asked while I was in Mexico. In fact, I was on the phone with B when there was a knock on the door. Master D had taken all the kids to a late showing of Captain America, so B was the only one home. I then started getting texts from her friend and my friend asking where she was. I guess they waited outside for quite awhile watching for her and when she didn’t show up and found out from me via third person she was at the movies, they went home leaving the “crime scene invite” for her to find. But she was thrilled. The guy is in two of her classes (she has found out later has a major crush on her). Phew! But now to find a dress when we were going out of town. I’ll just say this – It’s HARD to find a pretty, modest, fitting dress in a short amount of time. We looked all over CA – Everything and I mean Everything was either too short, lowcut, shiny, blingy or all of the above. I found this one online I had to order one 2 sizes too big since they were out of her size. It was “guaranteed” to make it before we left for Huntington – but didn’t. When we got home and picked it up from the Post Office – thank heavens they didn’t return it to sender – we took it straight to be altered. It all worked out in the end – but for a few moments I was having to calm down a somewhat hysterical teen. She had a GREAT time. Evan was fun, polite and a great date. Success at prom. And my good friend Betsy agreed to take on the hair and passed with flying colors. I imagine this is a little taste of what planning a wedding may be like. Serenity now……serenity now
They make the boutonnieres with magnets now instead of pins – brilliant!!

So Gorgeous! Just WAIT until the wedding planning! I am ready to rip my hair out!!
Oh, I can relate! Prom dress shopping was probably my least favorite experience of all of Kari’s high school years. You did good! That is a beautiful dress! And of course, she makes it stunning! Love the hair too.
She looks beautiful! Things have certainly changed since prom days for me or my daughters. The sons didn’t seem to make it a big deal. I SO APPPRECIATED YOU at Prom you willingly, and appeared happily, wore your brides maid dress from Becca’s wedding. You looked adorable and even had the matching lavender shoes.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! She is gorgeous and so is the dress! The boy looks like he is a nice one, too. Never underestimate the value of a NICE BOY. 😉
Love that beautiful girl!
