It’s no new revelation that I love Thanksgiving. On Facebook a bunch of my friends have been writing their daily gratitude journals. It’s a great little way of expressing to 500 or so of your closest friends positive feelings. I recently watched a movie called “I AM”, that was seriously the best movie I have seen this year (except for the Coldplay Live! 2012 — that I don’t necessarily think would affect everyone the way “I AM” could). It explains how we are all connected, supported by science, by an ability to physically affect all life through our thoughts and emotions. Competition, isolation, violence and negativity is ruining the world. Survival of the fittest is a lie! I was emotional watching the entire thing knowing it was true, the way I know there’s an afterlife, that I love my family and music stirs my soul. Perfect for getting in the authentic spirit of Thanksgiving.
My appreciation for specific things change daily. One day I am grateful for warm socks, the next sunglasses, very kind comments on a blog post or that anyone takes the time to read these. Lately these are the things connected to my world:

Another completely positive experience for TT’s football season. This coach went above and beyond in his ability to teach the boys to be hard workers and great kids. I used to believe Coach Evil (Master D’s coach for 5 years) was the rule and now I am becoming a believer that he was the exception – another life lesson.

B’s dedication to his kids. He flew home at midnight from his business trip in Florida to be there to support TT in his championship game in the fun snow. I also really appreciated gloves, warm boots and ear covers. And they won…..again:)

Rebirth..It’s still a long process but we’ve seen the first petal of my “bright red rose bursting through the concrete”. I can’t describe my giddiness!

This is 2 parts: The young women’s program teaching these girls morals and responsibility. Lelu and Morgan received their medallions together last week. They’ve been friends for 9 years. I am forever and always grateful for friendship. A love that gives tremendous VALUE to your life!

The love, support, understanding and connection between siblings. On one of the most beautiful warm days we’ve spent at the beach.

Treasured moments– that as we grow older and our kids leave us to go out into the big wide world– are so necessary.

Thank you, Kristin. You have inspired me to publicly (on FB) list what I’m grateful for. I need to make more time to read these things!
Nice Blog Kristen. Thank you for sharing it. Love the photo of Dhane and the elders. Very sweet photo of Aubrey and the little mermaid
My sentiments exactly!
I love love love your blog! And this post especially, with the priceless pics to go with sentiments. That Park City sister trip was when I knew I was getting divorced, and the music and sister support from all of you is still deeply rooted. It was not until 4 months later that I was told out loud, but I knew it was coming. We need to do more of the sister gatherings! I am grateful for you.
Those 44 things listed by your children are a beginning catalog of all the reasons a father loves his daughter. We do not often enough tell each other how proud we are of observed accomplishments, goals, attitudes and general all-around excellent behavior , but this is a time and a place I definitely want to affirm these things I see clearly in you. If I have not loved you enough, or told you enough, or thanked you enough for all your caring, your talents, and your generosity toward others, let me deliver a huge portion of appreciation right now!! You are one great kid. And one day, you’ll be at least as good as your remarkable mother–perhaps even better. Love, Dad
This is priceless! As I am having more time to get into geneology, I am wishing there was more about them. You are leaving a treasure for your posterity! I agree with all your father has written, and feel grateful that your generation is building on ours! It is the most rewarding of all to see your daughter exceeding you.
Congratulations to Tallon for another championship! Wish we could have been there – snow and all!. We look forward to seeing all of you in a couple of days for a weekend of Thanksgiving!
Big Smile! A little teary…thank you from the bottom of my heart:D
I love this! You are amazing and are raising amazing kids, we love you all and are so grateful to call you family (& friends)!
