Don’t Believe Everything You Read On the Internet!

May 6-8, 2015

Since the beginning of Taylor Time (aka1989), we’ve taken our kids to Disneyland every other year.  We’ve been there pretty much every season at least once – summer, Spring Break, Christmas Break, birthdays and holiday weekends.  With this much experience, I’ve become a die hard “fair weather Disneyland goer”, which means: I do not go when it’s busy!  We had not gone since before Master D left on his mission and the kids went into high pressure mode when we were down there for Spring Break.  Spring Break is THE WORST in case you are wondering!  I think even worse than the summer.  Anyhow, B and I decided it would be cool to surprise them and take them out of school for a day – letting Lelu and Master D in on the plan (so that they didn’t miss anything crucial) and go keep up the tradition.  As such, I did my research – internet research – to find the least busy day in May.  Apparently, a lot of other people read the same info.  The twins had no idea, Lelu packed for them and we came up with the lie that we were picking up one of B’s clients at the airport and then going out to dinner with him.  We parked and opened up the back of the truck and told them to grab their suitcases.  TT was all cool about it, but Ari was freaking out a little.  She even told me she was scared and where could we possibly be taking them?  Haha that was really fun!  Anyway, the kids didn’t mind that it was busier than I prefer, the weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun.  I guess we’ve got a couple more times to take the twins and then we move into (hopefully) future grandchildren to continue the tradition with, but I will stick to my middle of January – right around B and Master D’s birthdays – game plan.  That is truly the best time to go! IMG_2681 IMG_2306IMG_2683

  1. Do you remember our trip during Tempe’s spring break, which wasn’t at the same time as a zillion other spring breaks? It was wonderful! You kids just ran from ride to ride – no lines!! I sat on a bench and enjoyed the peace.

  2. I’ve always been glad we had at least one opportunity to take two vehicles and all nine kids to Disney land at least once. Clarissa nailed it as one of the best things we’ve ever done as a family. We love you all.
