Yup February Was Crazy

February 7th to 11th Orlando Florida

This year I dragged B to the Florida cheer competition. He wore his shirt extremely proudly and Ari and her team placed 7th in the nation out of 65 teams. They were bummed out since last year they were 1st. They’ve done their 1st place routine a hundred times, it just wasn’t their day.

February 6th TT performed in three piano recitals for his teacher. I think she really wants to show the young boys to keep up with it. He played “Sail Away” by Styx. TT loves the 70’s and 80’s bands probably as much or more than I do. He also went with his friends to see the Hall & Oates. I’m pretty sure they were the youngest people there. I videoed him playing his song and I don’t know what happened but the sound didn’t record. You’ll just have to take my word for it that he’s really good.

February 9th While we were in Florida with Ari, TT and Kenna went to the Sweethearts dance together.

February 13th to 18th – We headed off for our annual trip to Whistler over Valentines/President’s day weekend. This time Master D couldn’t make it, but Jake took his place. It was waaaaay more crowded this year. I don’t know what happened to turn everyone on to our place. It was completely beautiful and for Valentine’s Day after a nice dinner we went on a sleigh ride at night. I must admit it was slightly creepy in the dark on the side of the very steep mountain. I kept my eye out for wolves and plotted our escape off of the sled if the horses got spooked. Halfway through the ride it started snowing and we stopped off to go in a little cabin for hot cocoa. B was asked if he wanted some Baileys in his cocoa and he said “Is it good?” the girl said it was delicious, so he said “sure, I’ll try some”. I can’t remember who it was that said: you know that’s alcohol right? and he responded “Bay Leaves?” I’m not sure if anyone has ever tried bay leaves in hot cocoa – but B is definitely ready to try anything. I’m much pickier.

Lelu and Chase made a pact that if one of them bungee jumped, the other one would. There was no need to convince Jake, you couldn’t have held him back! Dawna and I went up to watch and thank heavens it wasn’t nearly as cold as last year. I didn’t get a single photo of Chase bungee jumping – which was super dumb and I also didn’t get one of all of them together up on the bridge. You’ll just have to take my word for it. Lelu was absolutely terrified and jumping off and living to tell about it didn’t alleviate the fear. Ari, TT did front flips off and Jake did a back flip off.

Just a photo of our super flattering re-entry to the US photo line-up.
