Ari had cheer on their birthday from 7 am and didn’t get home that evening until 7 pm (she’s got an intense coach that doesn’t take birthday excuses during competition season). So we decided we’d pretend Sunday was their birthday.  It’s always a bit of a disturbance to me that they are truly individual children and that I need to treat them as such and sharing a birthday is not their most favorite aspect of being twins.  In that mindset, I asked each of them what they wanted for dinner and lo and behold – they were completely different!?! TT wanted fish tacos and Ari wanted Lasagna.  I pretty much spent Saturday and Sunday preparing for their birthday. TT wanted a picnic cake and Ari wanted these little pinterest type chocolate pots of cheesecakey, oreo topped things that looked a lot easier to make in the video than they turned out to be.  On a side note – I have only made lasagna from scratch twice in my whole life (this time I even made the sauce in a crockpot using my home grown tomatoes) but I made a little mistake in cooking it without the foil first and then with the foil second. Browning first and steaming second is not a good lasagna plan. I thought I probably should have bought it frozen from Costco like I’ve done in the past, but I think it tasted good (the sauce saving it) so all was well.  It’s just pretty ugly. then Master D let them torture him and we did only sing once..Then Maddie and Ari had some fun with TT’s hair while we all dared him to go to school the next day with the braids in and guess what – he did!I picked them up for lunch on Monday (their actual bday) and we took out TT’s braids (Yikes!) and went to the DMV to get their permits.Waiting for them to take their tests was just the beginning of the torture of teaching two kids to drive at the same time.  Fairness must be maintained at all costs! And they both passed – phew! and yes, TT did get his photo taken with that hair…..
