Turkey Day (month) in a Pandemic

November 2020

After Lelu and I recovered from Covid – we jumped in the car and made the very long and very boring road trip to AZ to visit Ari, get our hairs done, and look at some homes for B and I to hang out in for our retirement ( as opposed to “retirement homes” – more on that later) to replace our condo that we also put up for sale.

You can see here exactly what my non-fixed hair looks like. I have this insanely stupid wave in the back of my head. This is what it looks like when I just let it dry. Straight in the front, insane in the back and bit of constant and natural curse of the ‘bed head’.

After photos: I lightened up the whole head and it took 6.5 hours and with my sensitive head – was not very pleasant.

We had a lot of fun, even if we looked at way too many homes and were tired out by the end of the day.

November 24th, 2020.

Aub originally planned to drive down and be with us for turkey day – but after all us Utah dwellers got Covid the beginning of November, she was worried about the virus lingering in the house. Ari flew up from Phoenix, but Lelu & Jake ate with the Martins this year. I didn’t take a single photo of our meal. Lelu suggested sending Aub a pumpkin pie and she took a photo of Archie checking it out… Lelu took a couple photos…. It was honestly the quietest Turkey day in the history of our marriage by a long shot.

Ari met Finn for the first time – and we have a photo of that.

I’m gettin this sent off to the printer -in freaking April 2021 – how very sad and another bit of collateral damage from this past crazy year.

My Gratitude List for 2020:

  1. I am grateful No one I know personally died. (A pretty big deal in a pandemic)
  2. I am grateful Covid wasn’t a terrible illness for my little Utah dwelling family …esp B or I.
  3. I am grateful Our company survived, we were okay to take everyone home to work, we were able to budget well enough in order to not have to lay off anyone.
  4. I am grateful We discovered Montana.
  5. I am grateful We were all safe on our many road trips
  6. I am grateful I realize how much I miss human connection, going to movies and being able to travel.

  8. I am grateful For the entertainment of our many dogs – no really.
