This is my “Things I’ve done better in 2015” Blog

Done Better 2015: Disclaimer – None of these are perfected and nor do I expect to in this lifetime.  I just do better (sometimes) when I know better

1. More communication with Aub – okay she deserves the credit for this one – but we catch up every Sunday night and it’s truly priceless talk time.

2. I can bite my tongue more often than not while weighing the pros and cons of what I really want to say. IMG_3329

3. Patience is improving….I’m pretty sure.

4. Successfully conquered getting the statistics/Logic monkey off my back! (And just for the record looking back on it: it was harder than running a marathon).

5. Understand more about Addiction (my other class last semester) than I ever wanted to know and realize it affects everyone!

6. 1. Meditate – 2. Sleep 8 hours (working on that one) – 3. Exercise (Logic crowded out a lot of my exercise last semester & I renewed my belief it’s absolutely necessary especially if I eat like I am exercising) – 4. Eat the Rainbow! In that order…IMG_3335

7. The more I see of the world and the people, while facing difficult and joyful situations, the more sure I am Heavenly Father loves me. This is probably one of the handful of things I do know for sure.

8. I understand how little I really know and it makes me very hungry to know more, see more, experience more – as there is an infinite abundance.

I have to look up a lot of words while reading and my dictionary app keeps a running list. here’s just a few of them: IMG_1712 IMG_1713

9. Realized I can’t be all things to all people all the time and just hope those love banks don’t go bankrupt before I make more deposits – including my own.

10. Find ways to appreciate and rename some of my idiosyncrasies – ie.. humor (aka sarcasm) and discernment (aka self protective mechanism)IMG_3281

My friend Mindy had me come up with a mantra word for the upcoming year.  Mine is:

NOURISH – spirit, mind, body and relationships

Here’s to nourishing all things – learning more, experiencing more, seeing more and filling up love, friendship and good karma banks in 2016!

  1. I like it! Nourish is a great mantra. I like what you’ve learned too. I need to do this. It’s a good exercise for every year.

  2. Love that you took the time to do this, and have done it so well. I learn from you. My one and only New Year’s “mantra” is “Seize the moment!” I’ve discovered every day has at least one, and these are good things to give thanks for each night. Love you!
