Quickcast Of a Chunk of Summer

If I don’t just sum up most the rest of the summer in one blog post I feel like I will never catch up again. I guess I’m just like everyone else. I’m just not feeling it. Not feeling any of it. Not feeling like I really want to try to optimistically sugar coat our adventures in a pandemic, riot filled, crazy a#$ world right now. True we’ve had a few and found a new place to love but overall 2020 just stinks!

Fourth of July. We invited the Martins over to swim and BBQ and then we went over to Lelu & Jakes to light off all of the illegal fireworks that TT & Kenna went to Wyoming to get. Kenna’s parents and siblings ended up coming over too. Then Caleb and TT had a very stupid shoot-out of roman candles at each other and got screamed at by the next door neighbor – who was 3 sheets to the wind and called them big dumb a$#es (which I couldn’t argue with). Fun times.

July 9th, We took a camping trip that Lelu had reserved for B for a Father’s Day gift. She and Jake did all the planning and shopping and we went up into the beautiful American Fork Canyon. TT came up late and spent the night and the next morning we hiked up to a favorite rock wall they like to climb and watched in horror all of them scale the cliffs.

The twins got their wisdom teeth out. TT kept saying “Don’t tell mom anything. My friends told me to watch out and she will try to get information out of us” Ari just kept crying and crying and saying “I miss cheer. I miss my friends”. At first TT was bugged by Ari crying and then he decided to be nice and hug her. I couldn’t even think of any truth serum questions to ask them at the time.

A few days after their wisdom teeth removal – B announced that we were going to Montana. We have friends with a cabin on a lake and they’d been inviting us for the last 4 years. Without me planning out summer full of out of town adventures this year, he decided it was good timing and it was. We took the boat with Lelu, Jake, TT, and Kenna. Master D was nice enough to stay home with Ari since she was having more trouble recovering from wisdom teeth than TT. Not that Master D really had a choice. It was a loooong drive since we had to stop so many times to have the boat tested in Idaho and Montana. These states take their boat testing seriously and don’t want unwanted critters invading their beautiful lakes.

Jake got hit in the head by a surf board, but it didn’t even faze him. He didn’t want to quit and go to Urgent Care so they waited until it was after dinner and then headed into town. By the time they got there, Urgent Care was closed so they went to the local ER. The very nice guy at reception who could have been Cam from Modern Family’s twin checked to see if their insurance worked and when he discovered it didn’t, he said let me grab the doctor just to have a look and then the doctor came out and glued his eye wound closed in the reception area. And then we were all sold on Montana.

They have cherry orchards everywhere and apparently they have bears too. Lelu and Kenna went on a run and saw a bear run across the road ahead of them. We went with a realtor to look at property and found a huge bear poop full of cherry pits on one of the properties. There are more deer there than people for sure.

Our friends treated us like royalty making us delicious meals and stocking our little cabin with snacks. B was laying on the bed in the little cabin and told me he was in heaven and never wanted to leave.

Aub and Archie came down again to spend some time with us and got there to Utah a couple days before we got back.

After we got home we went on a few dog walks at night and our neighbors gave us some of their delicious tiny little green grapes.

Archie and Cinco love each other.

We had beautiful sunflowers blooming

And finished another puzzle.
