This incredible woman with eight kids under the age of 11 made Master D his favorite picnic cake after calling me for the recipe. Love her and her beautiful family!
He’s 21 now! and as he says “Old enough to do everything that mormons don’t want to do”. And home in twenty-three days! I sent him the questions in his email this week and copied and pasted them exactly.
- What do you like to dream about? I’m going to answer this in two ways. The first will be my favorite thing to sleep dream about. Haha. I absolutely love the Zombie Apocalypse dreams I have. They never end up being sad or sadistic or even really that violent, they are just an end of days apocalypse survival tale. More hunting and gathering with a twist. 🙂 Sometimes they pick up where they left off! However, My greatest dream in life is, after a series of preliminary steps, run a thriving production company in Utah that can Rival the Hollywood production companies on par with Paramount. I dream to be somewhat of an influence on the world.
- what is your best memory this year? This is going to sound very base. But I think it is so hilarious and comical. In the streets of Ithaca there was a random man (likely missing some synapses) who hated Glenn Beck. He also thought we had the power to excommunicate him. He would start to yell and we became very curt with him, cutting him off so we could get to our appointment. An interesting feature was this man always carried a large lacrosse stick with him. One day Elder McPherson and I saw him down the block, and he saw us, and starting running full out at us. Crazy man with a Lacrosse stick coming to yell at us. We turned and ran around a corner. Stopped. Looked back and he followed. This happened again around another corner and at this point we were positive he was following us.We ducked behind a gas station, and watched him run past us. And then run back. We sat for a few minutes and then cut through some yards in the opposite direction. I really do laugh thinking about this all the time. He always seemed to be afflicted with Rabies too, because he would occasionally foam at the mouth. And don’t worry, I didn’t tell you about it until 10 or 11 months later! It was fun, because we were always more vigilant after that. He was harmless, but passionate.
- Who is your hero? Why? My hero is Barton Taylor. This takes into consideration his work ethic, his family ethic, and his humor. I look up to my father more than any other.
- How would you describe your family? Priceless. The single most important thing to me.
- If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? The only thing I would change is the insatiable desire I have to accomplish pretty much everything to have come earlier. I have it now. I just wish I had it earlier. 🙂 I truly desire to learn and grow ten fold.
- What are you most proud of yourself for? I am most proud of the level of esteem I hold each member of my family, and the relationship I have with all of them. I love each of them very much. I also feel pretty good at making breakfast foods.
- Who is the kindest person you know? The kindest person I know is likely to be President Wirthlin. He is honest with people, but I haven’t really seen anyone who has so much charity for so many doofs.
- Who is your best friend? What do you like most about your best friend? Ayden is my best friend. The thing I like most about her is the empathy she has for every suffering creature. She truly cares when others suffer, and strives to boost them in any way she can. She ministers and builds and lifts and inspires.
- What is the one thing you would like to learn to do well? Three. Make movies. Play Piano. Learn Spanish. 🙂
- If you were an animal, what one would you be and why? A Bald Eagle. One: No one would hunt me. Two: I could fly.
- When is the last time someone hurt your feelings? How did you react? I was more embarrassed by someone in Church. I was talking with a kid about to leave on his mission during Elder’s Quorum, and the teacher decided to make me a public example of what not to do. I responded decently in the moment, but decided to record the mistake in my journal, and make plans not to make the same mistake. I’ve started writing down mini “life lessons” in my journal on all the things I witness or experience, so I can have a book of wisdom of sorts to know how to react to certain situations.
- What is the scariest thing that happened this year? Haha. This one was like eight months ago. I didn’t tell you this one either. In Downtown Albany, I had a woman try to run me over and then scream at me that if she ever saw me again she would try to hit me with her car. The best part is that all the ghetto peeps around us started screaming back at the woman and defending us (elder Gittins and I). After the woman drove off some Ghetto peeps came over to us and told me I should of let her hit me so I could sue her for all she was worth. Picture this with the most colorful language ever. Haha. It was funny, but needless to say, I didn’t go back to that neighborhood.
- If you could keep only one thing, out of everything you have, what would it be? My Family
- Who do you think is really successful, why? Well. Dad. Yes. But also mom. Both of them (or you) for all the reasons I included on why dad is my hero. Because I think you both are very successful.
- What three words best describe yourself? Ambitious, “Anti-social Social”, and Fun-loving.
- What’s something that makes you angry? I really loathe when the culture (or government, specifically the welfare program) is “Something for Nothing”, and “Entitlement just Because”. The Reason I HATE this is how much talent and ambition is destroyed by it. There are so many people I have met Who Have so much potential, but it is ruined by how easy it is to just cruise on “Something for Nothing”. To the point where it becomes their very being! And there is not another road or avenue to take. Zero Ambition.
(I had not given him any of B’s answers – so I think this is funny)
- What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? This is weird. I don’t know if it was an actual compliment, but Emilie Woodhead once told me that she could tell how much I tried at improving myself. I loved that. I really do want to become the best person I can be.

What a great young man! I think it’s funny that he wishes he’d had the desire to accomplish things earlier. He’s only 21 for Pete’s sake! I didn’t get that desire until my 40’s, and boy, do I wish I’d had it earlier!
He is wonderful! Can’t wait to see him!
Another gem, Kristin! His is awesome and just beginning in his ambition and desires. Having served an honorable mission will give him much fuel to run the race!
I hope he remembers the little people when he gets to the top, because that is where he is going! (He will.) Kidding, I know he understands there are no little people. Love all his answers, and can’t wait to see his films.
