Jake and I both brought decorations for Lelu’s birthday. I set some stuff up the night before and Jake got up early to set up the rest. I started the tradition of decorating the house for birthdays and I’m glad it’s continuing into their adulthood. We had quite a day of fun planned.

Off to breakfast at an adorable cafe for hot chocolate and pancakes

Michelle & Maruan met up with us after breakfast. They did a little happy birthday dance in the window for us and they are almost always laughing or smiling.

We headed out to Achill Island to rent ebikes to ride around – imo it’s the best way to see everything up close. I love love the ebikes. A sign on the woman’s loo – Madonna must have got her bra in Ireland.

Our first stop was at the pirate queen’s castle, where we met a super nice guy that had slept in there overnight on his cross country bike ride. Maruan chatted it up with him while we explored.

Apparently, the locals paint their sheep the colors of their favorite team. There were all the colors so I guess there wasn’t a consensus on the teams they supported.

The views were so spectacular we just kept stopping and taking photos and soaking it in.

We are super fans..

After we finished riding around the entire island we got stuck waiting for the world’s longest tractor parade – no joke – there must of been 150 tractors just parading down the only road on the island. We made it up to this yummy little cafe for lunch looking at all of Master D’s attempts to replicate the falling man sign.

Then we drove to a super cool beach.

We went back to the house and got ready to go out to dinner – but had a cute little cake M&M got for her and opened gifts.

And for the birthday finale, we went to dinner at a really yummy restaurant. I brought the cute little sparkler 25 candles (she burned her finger on) and the restaurant staff sang to her again. It was a great day and I think(?) will go down as one of her favorite birthdays
