Labor Day Weekend 2021

September 3-6, 2021

Chase had returned from his mission and we invited the Entwistles to come for the weekend. Rel and her roommate Lena flew up from AZ and Master D came up from LA. He’s started his new job and was a bit stressed out so it was a nice little escape. Lelu and Jake stayed until Sunday since their house wasn’t quite ready for them to come back yet. It was awesome to have so many of us. I hope we can make it a annual tradition with the Dave, Dawna & Chase!

Rel and Lena got trashed tubing.

Chase braved joining them on the tube. TT or Master D driving the boat? I can’t remember – such is life when I’m almost a year behind.

Thank the lord no one was injured during the taking of those photos.

The day I took Rel and Lena to the airport in Missoula to get on the Allegiant flight direct to Mesa, I got a text from the group text I’m on with other people in the bay looking for a ride for two kids going on the same flight, so I answered that we had room and I’d be happy to drive them too. The guy whom I had never actually met, brought the boys over I was chatting with and he said they were all from AZ – I told him I grew up in Tempe and then he asked if I knew Mike Norberg…haha not only do I know him, Becca had a poster of him on her wall. I did not tell the guy that – but I did ask if he knew Eric too and he said he totally did. I am always amazed by the small world we live in. I told B “Eric was my first kiss in 7th grade – remember that story?” When I was driving the kids to the airport, one of the boys asked me to tell them the first kiss story and I thought “Hmmm am I ever going to see him in my life? Doubtful” so I told them the story. We were “going together” and I knew he wanted to kiss me after school one day and we were out in the field behind the school and he kissed me but slobbered all over my face and stuck his tongue down my throat and I wiped off my mouth and said “gross” and then he broke up with me. It was absolutely mortifying for me at age 12 but absolutely hilarious to me now.

We cleaned everything up and the Entwistles helped us. As we were taking the boys to the airport to get back in time for school, we tried a bunch of different restaurants but nothing was open so we ended up eating at a corndog food truck on the side of the road sitting on the back of B’s truck. It was high dining for sure! I wish we got a photo!
