I Know It’s a Little Crazy

The End of August through Labor Day 2020

We decided to look for a place on the lake in Montana. I know it sounds like we’ve lost our mind just a little. As Aub put it “I don’t think I’ve even heard you say the word Montana more than three times in my life”. Which is very true, but it’s the best kept secret so shhh. This home came up for sale and we just decided to go for it – without even seeing it in person. Our friends Joe and his wife went over and FaceTime’d us while they walked through. We were smitten, so we made an offer on the house – they accepted and now we are the proud owners of a lake house in Montana. B and I drove back up there four days after we returned from AZ (another road trip ugg), closed on the property and decided to stay for a couple weeks. We didn’t have any internet for a few days and there’s not much by way of shopping very close by, there are no shades on any of the windows – so we were waking up with the sun shining directly into our room, but we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The kids all drove the nine hours with the boat (Master D) and some furniture in the van (Lelu & Jake) to hang out with us over labor day weekend. Abby flew into SLC and drove the rest of the way with Master D, Ari flew from Mesa to Missoula – thanks to Dave for dropping her off at the airport and then picking her up at midnight, and TT drove with Blake from Logan. Kenna was working so she couldn’t make it. Lelu & Jake, Master D & Abby, and TT, Ari and Blake all were assigned to make a meal for everyone. It makes it so nice to share in the meal prep. We did a little bit of that during the quarantine time at the beginning of the summer. Only it was each person picking a day to cook.

Super Photo cred goes out to Abby. First some photos of the Lake House.

The view from the front of the house

We always have visitors and our neighbors feed them.

Warning Photo overload coming up….

Sneaky way to eat two ice cream sandwiches…

It was a very beautiful and fun filled weekend. The morning they were all getting ready to leave, we got hit by a crazy storm. We witnessed the fury of mother nature changing on a dime. It knocked out power, knocked down huge trees and just was crazy. I have video of the waves but what a shock – I don’t know how to put it on here. Here was one of the trees it took out

We love love love our little piece of heaven that we were introduced to this past summer. We plan to spend many more summers there with many friends, family and future family members.
