Girls In the Sun & Moab Fun

March 5th to 8th

For Christina’s birthday this year, I thought it’d be fun to plan another girls trip since it’s been more than two years since we’ve been on one. We decided on returning to where it all began in Arizona. It honestly would have been perfect, weather, food, fun, friends etc – except that I got sick before we left. I knew I couldn’t cancel so I just suffered through coughing, fatigue and hoping I didn’t have Covid. We spent a glorious 87 degrees out at the pool all day, got massages, got our hair done, dinner out at my two of my favorite restaurants, two dumb movies (we love to see dumb movies on girls trips), gelato and many hours of chatting and laughing. I can’t believe how lucky we were to go exactly one week before everything shut down! Sara, me, Kelly & Amy in the cabana at the pool

Christina and Cherie are always the ones who spend time in the actual water.

Drybar Scottsdale.

Amy couldn’t decide on which gelato she wanted – so she sampled a few

AN ELVIS SIGHTING!

Meanwhile back in UT the same weekend. Guest Blogger: Lelu

So far, 2020 has been pretty dang memorable, for lack of a better word. There’s this new virus called the “Coronavirus or COVID-19” that originated in China and has been spreading like wildfire throughout the rest of the world. Travel warnings have been issued, schools are shutting down, it’s been named a Global Pandemic. Needless to say, Jake and I decided to take a pretty low-key Spring Break this year alllllll the way down to Moab, UT. We scored a pretty good deal at a four-star hotel and packed our bags and headed to Moab! TT and his friend Calder joined us Friday-Saturday. It was the perfect time for us to relax and recharge. TT saw a YouTube video a while back showing a “how-to” on rope swinging off an arch, sounds fun, right? RIGHT. But also TERRIFYING. We drove out to Looking Glass Arch, climbed up, rappelled down free hanging, and took our turns swinging. I will say, I was pretty freaking scared, but it was so much fun! Definitely a day I will remember. Afterwards, we stopped at the quesadilla truck and went swimming! TT and Calder went home, and Jake and I got to stay a few more days. On Sunday, we went to explore Arches National Park- I’ve been a million times, but never have I hiked in Devil’s Garden. It was awesome! You can hit about 10 arches in a span of 3 miles. We had a lot of fun that day hiking and taking pictures of each other at the different arches. After, we went hot tubbing and walked up and down main street. I took Jake to the rock shop for his first time and he was BEYOND impressed, and I’m not saying that sarcastically. They had a dinosaur fossil and up until then, I hadn’t realized how much Jake was obsessed with dinosaurs, haha. The next day we went and climbed on wall street. I will say, I was nervous because I had just gotten lead-certified literally the week before, but I had a blast. Jake convinced me to climb another route up the canyon, which I didn’t enjoy as much, but it was still fun. Man, that boy loves climbing. All in all, it was a very memorable trip which we’ll remember! Glad we escaped before the world around us LOCKED DOWN haha.
