July 13, 2013 Our hotel in Munich – I slept almost the entire flight. B got motion sick, did not sleep and slept the whole first day while I went out exploring with friends.

Lori, Cherie and I – just after I got yelled at by an annoyed biker because I stood in her way taking a picture – she stopped right next to me, didn’t go around me and yelled “Hallooo, Hallooo” very annoyed…oops not a good impression.  Little did I know I was going to reprimanded a few times this trip. 

Flowers are everywhere!  Including these flower stands ..oh how I wanted to purchase some just to carry around and smell!

This building is really beautiful, it has the biggest glockenspeil in the world (at the top of every hour figurines including jousters on horses that move around in a circle to a really cheesy song and on the second turn one of the jousters falls back and the whole crowd goes “oooooo ahhhh”  – AND we were lucky enough to stumble upon a gay pride festival that we only figured out what was happening because we understood the word “transgender” from the loudspeaker

If we had been a little more observant and not just come off a 14 hour flight, we may have figured it out without hearing the word transgender.  We just thought, wow Munich is ‘interesting’.

We met up with another couple who got in a little later than us and took a train to Dacau, one of the biggest concentration camps during WWII.  Very sobering to say the least.

You need to zoom in to get the idea. This sculpture I thought was quite unnerving…I don’t know why you’d want to symbolize piles of death.
