Cherie and I coordinating our outfits before we start riding. She actually went on a totally different adventure to an ice cave. It took them four extra hours to get to Salzburg.

Gollinger Wasserfall – and that is not misspelled. It was quite a hike to climb up to see this but totally worth it! If there weren’t pine trees everywhere, we could have been in Hawaii.

“I am sixteen going on seventeen….” they had to lock up the gazebo where that scene was filmed because too many women were recreating it and broke a hip or a leg. True story!

Finally my tree lined street that I loved, just in time because my attitude was getting a little irritable. You know how you sometimes just have those “off” days? We climbed a couple wicked hills – grateful for my clips on this day – and then everyone else seemed like they were in a race and we fell way behind, I was DONE with biking, I got snippy with B as we tried to figure out the directions, one of our trails was blocked by construction, thank heavens our guide Mirjam (pronounced Miriam) came looking for us and showed us the detour to lunch. The second half of the day was much better!

Our German bishop was the only person I have met who didn’t like “The Sound of Music.” I had very bad memories of the war, said it wasn’t like that for them.
I heard the real Maria Von Trapp speak at BYU. She was very entertaining, but a lot rougher around the edges than Julie Andrews.
