Aug 1st – 7th
Michelle and Maruan came up to visit us. One of the days we all went up to the Uintas including Jeff, Christina, Landon, his girlfriend and ended up at a lake called Ruth Lake. We went to lunch at the Junction in Park City (if you like a good steak and everything – this is a good dive place to go) on the way up. It’s so nice to have them come visit and never seems like they stay long enough.
The kids did a little catch and release fishing and we enjoyed a very nice day together.

August 7-11th
Sadly, Aub’s trip didn’t line up with M&M but started the same day Michelle and Maruan left and they missed each other by just a few hours. So another plane was boarded, this time by Aub headed to SLC a few days after the return of the Mitty Bros. She had a couple concerts she bought tickets for, as well as, treated Lelu and Jake to really amazing seats to see CHVRCHES for Lelu’s upcoming birthday. She also fit in some random polaris-ing around the neighborhood with the boys.

The morning before Aub headed back to Portland, we were lucky that all four of us girls plus Christina could enjoy some “Say Yes to the Dress” – barbie doll – fashion show, wedding dress trying on for Lelu and then lunch at LoneStar Taqueria for our fav fish tacos.
This is not THE dress, but since Lelu is a bit like a barbie doll, I had a little fun having her try on the most expensive dress in the store.
Later that evening, we went to a Bees game for the TazWorks summer party (there has been a few new babies born this year to the employees of Taz) and my girls were having fun holding the babies……while TT was traumatizing them. (see video below)
August 12th
AGAIN a plane was boarded, as B and I headed back out to Stanford for another adjustment to his new AI device, missing the send off of Master D’s move to the Big Apple. The kids had a going away BBQ with his friends before he took off on August 13th.
I swear every single time we go back to Palo Alto, new flowers have been planted in the outdoor mall across the street from his appointments and every single time, I can’t not take photos of their wondrous beauty! I just don’t think UT climate can compete.
Master D arrived to an empty apartment that he quickly started the process of furnishing. This was his bed the first night
Luckily his couch came the next day and he found himself a “support plant” named Mortimer – much easier maintenance than a “support pet”!
And here is his finished product…except for wall art. I’m not sure who is more excited about this next phase of life – 3 years and living in a little studio apartment in a the big city going to Columbia – me or him….
August 22nd.
First day of School Photos. Ari had to be to school by 7:00 am for a welcome to the school by the cheerleaders and TT literally rolled out of bed and barely made it on time.
August 27th
Lelu moved into a basement of a little old lady’s house so she didn’t have to sell a contract at the end of this semester, but I think she’s not loving that choice. She started back up at Utah State.
And Master D sent me this photo of his first day too.
I honestly used to be excited about the kids being back in school all day. I’m not anymore. I think it was harder to entertain them when they were young and now we are all going different directions it makes me pretty sad to have summer come to an end. I need some summer staycation aside from our summer vacations. Don’t get me wrong…I LOVE all of the traveling and experiences, I just know I only have ONE real summer break left with kids home. I’ll have to put some real thought into how to balance that precious time and I only have ten months to figure it out.
