5 weeks in Europe, 8 countries, and 40 students. Did I love it? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes. Do I want to come home? No. (sorry mom;) there’s just something about eating gelato (mind you.. more gelato than any person should eat in a lifetime) every day in Italy that’s making me want to stay! My only question is why the heck we can’t make food like this in america? sorry but we are LACKING in the food department (at least Utah is!) You know it’s bad when you call your mom JUST to tell her how good lemon panna cotta is (I definitely didn’t do that).
…So I guess all I’m trying to say is Olive Garden shouldn’t exist.
Our first stop was London England. 36 hours filled with The Lion King on Broadway (amazing btw), Big Ben, Oxford University, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and VERY little sleep!

^hi im awkward
Our next stop was Brussels, Belgium. We woke up at 3 AM to catch a train and I was feeling crappy all day. SO the 4 hours in Belgium weren’t my fave but I did get a Belgian waffle!!

On to the Netherlands! We spent 8 days in Maastricht. Which was the cutest little city and which I highly recommend for anyone!! It’s perfect for families, couples, or just a little 18 year old college student haha. We biked almost every day, played at the park, shopped, and took 2 day trips- one to Amsterdam, and one to Aachen, Germany.
The next weekend we were off to Paris France. Coincidentally it ended up being the same weekend as the Euro World Soccer Cup! To say it was CRAZY would be an understatement. But despite all the madness we were able to do The Eiffel Tower at night and day, Notre Dame, The Louvre, Versailles, Arc De Triumphe, and more crepes than my body could handle! I also broke BOTH pairs of my sandals that weekend from walking so much. (Averaged 13 miles a day)

We woke up at 4AM the following Monday to catch a flight to beautiful Sweden!
8 days spent in Lund, filled with lots of park playing, bike rides, freezing cold beaches, and healthy yummy food! I was also in love with the hotel we stayed at! First comfy bed I’d slept in + breakfast was amazinggg!! (Fun fact: Sweden is the second healthiest country in the WORLD!)
^i ate this salad literally every day I loved it so much
^rode my bike to a town called Hjarrops. It was adorable but a ghost town! No one was there!
On Friday, me and a few friends decided we needed to hit up another country! So early that morning we booked an air bnb and hopped on a train to Copenhagen, Denmark!
I totally LOVED it! Seriously my favorite city! We spent the day sight seeing, went on a canal tour, visited the little mermaid statue, church of our savior, Rosenburg castle, AND the original Christus statue! It was beautiful! We ended the night at Tivoli Gardens. (Disneyland was based off of this amusement park! It was a definite highlight!)
And I can’t forget our Airbnb we stayed in. I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves.
^with a Paris Hilton bedspread
We survived!
Thursday we left for Italia! 9 days in Siena, then finished up in Rome for 3 days.
We took cooking classes in Siena which were AMAZING, hiked, shopped, sight saw, took a day trip to Florence and a day trip to a Beach (lol I can’t remember what it was called).
^next boy I find that looks like The David, I’ll marry him;)
^Top of the Duomo in Florence. So beautiful!

every night we would all go to dinner together and laugh until our cheeks hurt! I’m going to miss spending every night with these 4 girls! So so grateful for them. This is what dreams are made of! Lizzie McGuire anyone?

So yes! In case you were wondering, I would just relive this summer over and over again if I could! I have honestly loved every second of it. I have learned so much, made friendships that will last forever, and grew such a love for this beautiful world we live in! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have had this experience (as cheesy as that sounds) It’s been an absolute dream! so HUGE s/o to mom & dad THANK YOU for helping me make this possible!! Love love love you!!!

I love you Lelu and I love that you had this experience!

Becca
All I can say is WOW! What a fun adventure.
So happy you got to experience it.
Grandma Sorenson
There really is no substitute for “being there.” And to spend so many weeks with four fun friends just puts the accent on how “incredibly uplifting and informative” such a good vacation can be. I expect your entire being is now ingrained with how much you’d like to travel for the rest of your life. Your Sorenson grandparents love you, appreciate you and look forward to hearing personally, from your own mouth, all about the experience. Hope to see you soon.
