oh NO she’s LEGAL NOW

Lelu pretty much celebrated for four straight days. First we surprised her with dinner up at a restaurant in Millcreek canyon secretly inviting some of her closest friends – and us. From left to right…Grant, Savannah, Miranda, Lelu, Jake and Maddie. We decorated with balloons and her favorite sunflowers before we left to go out. Then on Sunday, I made her favorite recipe of MIchele’s lime chicken tacos and her favorite birthday cake since forever…Swedish wedding cake She moved up to Logan to start school on Monday August 27th and then her birthday was the next day and Utah had a cold front move in.After classes, she drove back down to Draper and went to lunch with B and then when Jake was done with school, they went out to dinner to celebrate also. I think 21 was a really fun birthday for her.  And I am in denial. Now for the birthday blog questions:

  1. What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?

I am a people pleaser. I care wayyyyyyy too much what other people think of me and what I’m doing. Pretty self explanatory as to why that would be a problem.

  1. What’s your favorite family tradition?

All of our birthday’s are always so fun! The older I get, the more I realize how grateful I am for all the effort that has been put into our birthdays (mostly my mom hah). It’s a special day just for us (except the year Dhane made me watch Hidalgo on MY birthday ;).

  1. Would you travel to space if you could?

Yes, definitely. The ultimate bucket list cross off!

  1. Would you choose to be the worst player on a winning team or the best player on a losing team?

Best on a losing team.

  1. What would you like to learn to cook?

An Italian dish. Gimme all the cream, pasta, and butter!!! YUM 😋

  1. What are ways that you have grown and changed in the last year?

Hard question. This last year has definitely been the most ‘life changing’ so far. I think I learned the most about myself and what’s important to me. I made a lot of mistakes, but I’d like to say I learned from all those mistakes, and changed for the better.

  1. What was a time in your life when you had to be brave?

I think I have to be brave in some sort of way every day. But the 3 months I spent in New Zealand’s wilderness was probably the bravest I have ever been. It was SOOOO far out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to cry, scream, quit, and run away alllllll. the. dang. time. But I didn’t. And I think that’s what matters.

  1. What qualities show a person’s maturity?

Patience.

  1. Who had the most influence in shaping your work ethic?

Both of my parents.

  1. If you could take a class on any subject, what would it be?

Hair 101. Makeup 101. Organizing 501. Intro to cooking. Beginner’s Italian. Meditation. Skateboarding. Intro to sewing. Travel hacking. Networking. Public Speaking. Among a few…..

  1. What are your top three hopes and dreams for your kids?

If I had to pick one quote that I want to teach my children it would be, “have courage and be kind,” as heard in Cinderella. I seriously love that quote. It’s really hard to pick my top three hopes and dreams, so I think I’ll just stick with this quote. It says it all for me.

  1. What actor would play “you” in a movie about your life?

Blake lively, just because I love her.
