October 2023 – Coldplay, Jake and The Dinner

For my birthday, B gave me Coldplay tickets in October 1st at the Rose Bowl. It was a very thoughtful gift from him to support my obsession – sadly, the Rose Bowl is my absolute least favorite venue (parking is literally on a golf course with no lines, markers, rhyme or reason, tons of dirt and mini hills, it sits in a residential neighborhood with one way in making traffic in and out INSANE, the lines to get swag at 2 stands are hours long, food sucks etc etc) to see a concert at. I honestly thought about selling the tickets. However, my love of Coldplay overrode my distaste for the venue. I invited Michele since she missed the one in Phoenix due to sick kids. When we got to our seats, a very nice older couple was in them and realized they were in the wrong seats, but told us their daughter is the puppet master in the show – my least favorite part of this tour. haha I felt a little bad because I think the puppet use is SO DUMB! but they were obviously very proud. Selena Gomez showed up to sing the duet “Let Somebody Go”. We froze our butts off once the sun went down. Got some pretty awful selfies (of me) and had a great time anyway.

Jake turned 29. I am not doing anything special for birthdays this year since I got so far behind. This is a very funny photo though.

TT went through the temple and we got ANOTHER very bad photo with very bad lighting.

Lelu and I planned the entire rehearsal dinner together up at Snowbird. They have a super cool venue at the top of the mountain that you have to ride the gondola to get to but it was already booked. We decided to still go up to Snowbird and hope that it didn’t snow early and that the leaves were still beautiful and boy oh boy did it turn out like a dream up there. The food was great. The toasts were touching and funny. The mocktail/soda bar was a hit. Everyone made it safely up and down the canyon. We only broke a few of the candle holders.

It was past the girls bedtime so they didn’t get to come, but I must include at least one photo of them at 5 months old.
