While we were galavanting about in Croatia, Master D was in charge back on the homefront – but don’t think they were twiddling their thumbs, in fact their schedule was quite the juggling feat. Try to keep up:
06/19/15 We left for Croatia. Lelu was still in Lake Powell.
06/20/15 Lelu returned from Powell.
06/22/15 TT went left on his 50 miler scout trip- confiscating phones and having men in charge mean no photos seem to be available
06/25/15 Ari left for Lake Powell with a friend
06/25/15 Lelu and Master D left for Portland
06/27/15 TT returned from his 50 miler, took a shower, ate lunch and went to the airport and flew to Portland.
06/29/15 We returned from Croatia
06/30/15 Kids returned from Portland
07/01/15 Dave, Shel and the boys arrived from AZ
07/03/15 Ari returned from Lake Powell.
Guest Blogger – Master D on Portland:
Since returning from serving a mission, I have annually visited Aub in Portland (two whole times!) and want to make it a yearly tradition. The first time around it was just me, sleeping with Tina (Aub’s cat) in Aub’s apartment. This time, our dear mother flew Lelu, TT, and I out to visit her. Aub is a fantastic host! She took us on a wonder tour through Portland’s food. Wow! A morbidly delicious place called Teote, food trucks, middle eastern, ramen, and graced our palettes. I must admit that I miss Portland’s food. Dearly.
While on the trip, Aub took us to a boat tour along the river that divides Portland. Our boat was basically a square bowl with a motor. At full speed only a few inches would be submerged in the water. This led to some wicked turning and heavy doses of water in the face. TT hid behind me and was practically dry the entire time.
On a domestic note, Lelu, Aub, and I shopped for couches and furniture, helping to fill Aub’s beautiful new apartment she moved into on June 13th. While most would find this boring, I thoroughly enjoyed helping my sister make a home for herself in a small way. It makes me excited for furniture shopping!
Some interesting tidbits:
This time Portland’s water supply did not have an E Coli scare.
Aub’s work place has a full body massage chair that employee’s can rent out (she has such a cool job!) on break.
Lelu is still very allergic to cats.
The annual naked bike race was held the same weekend we were in town. Yippee!
Aub has some really cool friends. I like them.
To sum up the experience, I have an incredible sister that I can’t wait to visit yearly for years to come. And I’m happy she has shared her weekends with us and worked so hard at making our trips be so chock full of awesome.
Oh yeah, Master D and TT also decided to have a little adventure while we were gone called “shooting the tube” – look it up on YouTube. I was not pleased but they definitely were!
Ari Lake Powell with her friend Brooklyn’s family:

Thanks, Master T, for keeping the ball rolling with the blog (Portland leg). I have to agree, your sister, Aub, is awesome. So happy you were all able to experience her world. I certainly enjoyed it visiting her, as well. xoxo
So Awesome! I love reading about what everyone is doing! We don’t see each other often enough, so this is the next best thing! Love you all! Becca
Guess I put my comment in the wrong box. Duh! That’s me and technology. Thanks for updating us on Aubri’s life. It sounds like she is doing well. No surprise that she is a great host. Look what family she comes from!!
