Kennebunkport

June 27th to July1st

It’s not the most beautiful drive the whole way. It took quite awhile to get out of Boston until we reached the greenery. There are a lot of strip malls and traffic getting out of there. We stayed at a very cute B&B right on the beach. When we arrived there was so much fog we couldn’t see the ocean, just hear it. Kennebunkport is just a tiny town on the coast. The Bushes have a compound there on a little peninsula. All the locals know them.

I think this was one of our most chill trips we’ve ever been on. I didn’t schedule anything really except dinner and we just kind of hung out, walked on the beach, checked out the compound, ate fresh Lobster, read on the balcony, painted petals on a flower on a wall in a pizza parlor and visited the cute little town looking at photos of all of the proprietors with one of the Bush presidents. It was definitely the most temperate climate at 75 during the day and 65 at night. It threatened to rain everyday but really only sprinkled on us during the day a couple times, and then rained at night.

Our cute beachy room.

This place had very yummy chai and bakery items.

My favorite beach house! I wouldn’t say no if someone offered it to me. This is a perfect beach for grandkids. Super shallow and calm waves with easy to walk on sand that is not too hot either.

The Bush compound! There was a yacht parked off the coast and many black SUV’s surrounding the gate and the building near the gate that I did not get in the photo.

We headed back to Boston the morning after our anniversary and flew home around 3 o’clock. Maybe we’ll come back for our 40th?
