I tried to take a photo of the riders behind me while I was riding. I got a great photo of a corner of my helmet and Cherie blurred behind me.

We stopped by a few waterfalls. Some we had to hike to, others were just on the side of the highway, like this one.

Today we had a picnic lunch in a park along the way. Bathrooms were hard to come by and so behind the yellow van seemed like a good place until a couple of the girls encountered stinging nettle.

We moved from Zell am see and biked to a new hotel in Werfen. We stayed at this hotel owned by ‘the most famous chefs in Austria – the Obeaur brothers” who cooked us a nine course meal. It was a little village that I think was one street on a hill with a castle above it.

They still have working phone booths in Austria.

This is a school. Maybe American kids would like school more if they painted them happy fun colors like this?

Our table is set for our three and a half hour nine course dinner. I am just going to say one thing about this meal and the chefs…it’s possible that it is sort of like the story of the emperor’s new clothes….calf knuckle and goose liver are not my cup of tea!  Next time I go to Germany or Austria I will be a vegetarian.  I can see why Aub decided to become one for a year after living there.  Way too much meat for my palate.

When one of my girls gets married, I want to talk them into center pieces that look like this!

On this trip, I broke my no sugar since last August 28th and tried some desserts. I planned ahead that I would let everyone taste them and tell me if they were worth it. There was never really a general consensus so I just tried a little of what looked good. I didn’t go crazy, but there were a few things I wish I wouldn’t have eaten. The only thing I liked in nine courses was the dessert.
